SSB Constable (General Duty) Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Constable (GD) recruitment consists of multiple stages. Candidates must clear each stage to proceed to the next. The stages are as follows:

  • Stage 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Stage 3: Written Examination (OMR/CBT Based)

SSB Constable (GD) Exam Pattern 2026

The written examination is the crucial merit-deciding phase. The pattern is designed to test the basic intellectual and analytical ability of the candidates at the Matriculation level.

Important Exam Rules:

This section will include problems relating to Number Systems and basic arithmetic.

Candidates' ability to understand basic English/Hindi and their basic comprehension would be tested.

  • Idioms and Phrases
  • One Word Substitution
  • Sentence Improvement

Physical Standards (PST) and Efficiency (PET)

Before the written exam, candidates must qualify for the physical rounds. These are qualifying in nature.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • For Male Candidates: 4.8 Km Race in 24 Minutes.
  • For Female Candidates: 2.4 Km Race in 18 Minutes.
